WHAT IS THE ‘COME ON THEN!!!’ CAMPAIGN?
The FORM180 ‘COME ON THEN!!!’ Campaign is a martial approach to tackling mental health difficulties by applying the principles of self-defence to psychological warfare.
The campaign was designed to empower and prepare our nation’s minds for the challenging months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the aftermath of reported cases of the coronavirus and the looming threat to our economy as a nation, we believe that now more than ever, we must readily unite to protect ourselves from the mental impact of what has been classed by world leaders, as the biggest challenge our planet has faced since World War II.
WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SHOW?
Studies show that more than two-thirds of adults in the UK (69%) reported feeling somewhat or very worried about the effect COVID-19 is having on their life. The most common issues affecting wellbeing are ‘worry about the future’ (63%), feeling ‘stressed’ or ‘anxious’ (56%) and ‘feeling bored’ (49%).
Although some ‘worry’ widespread is understandable, more severe mental ill health is being experienced by some groups. Another study found that mental health has worsened significantly (by 8.1% on average) as a result of the pandemic. Groups have not been equally impacted; young adults and women – groups with the worse mental health pre-pandemic – have been hit the hardest.
SO, WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO ABOUT IT?
We at FORM180 are campaigning for mental health to be higher on the government agenda and for the positive wellbeing of our communities by promoting a combat system of thinking to defend our sanity. Our campaign is named after a simple, three-word British phrase that many in our country will have said just before engaging in a street fight. Those heartfelt, emotive, passionate, powerful words are “COME ON THEN!!!”, only this time our opponents are the negative, unwanted thoughts of anxiety, depression, suicide and more.

encourage yourself by listening to positive music and/or a motivational speech
